Design Made Simple
Chrissi Millner
Chrissi remembers being the only eight year old she knew that loved reading her grandmother’s Better Homes and Gardens magazines. At ten years old she would spend summer afternoons drawing scaled floor plans on graph paper while playing architecture with her younger brother. Interior Design has always been a passion of hers. However, being from a small town in West Virginia, Interior Design was not a practical career choice, so Chrissi got a degree in Psychology and worked in the mental health field for over ten years before returning to school for her degree in Interior Design in 2011.
Chrissi is an active IDS member, was on the board and wrote their monthly newsletter for a couple years. In her time as a designer, Chrissi worked for a residential designer for two years and completed design projects in Charlotte as well as New York and Maryland. She has also worked for almost 5 years for a high-end design and remodeling firm specializing in kitchen and bath design.
Chrissi finds that her Psychology degree and experiences from her former career enhance her abilities to truly connect, listen, and understand customers' design dilemmas in a more personal and caring way. She has discovered the psychology of design facilitates her ability to create a fresh, simple plan for the space that will work for the family’s personal style and needs.
